This new study could bring good news to many. The Telegraph reports that researchers at Granada University in Spain claim to have found that beer may help your body recover better after exercise as opposed to water or Gatorade. Prof. Manuel Garzon also claimed that carbonation in beer aids to satisfy thirst, and the carbohydrate content of beer can help replace lost calories.
In a conference with the press, Professor Garzon mentioned that the hydration effect observed in those who drank beer is “slightly better.”
A cardiologist from the Real Madrid football team, Dr. Juan Antonio Corbalan, said to the Telegraph he long has recommended barley drinks for professional athletes after exhausting exercise.
There are a variety of options for Rehydrating, however water remains the most effective.
